Job summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support Urgent Care operations in Las Vegas, NV. The role involves greeting patients, checking in and out, updating insurance details in EPIC, and collecting co-pays while upholding the organization’s standards.

You will schedule visits, ensure correct visit types, assist in maintaining a clean waiting area, and help the care team manage patient flow. A CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • 1+ years of experience working with computers and computer programs.
  • CPR certified OR ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers.

  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to policies.

TheAssociate Patient Care Coordinatoris responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Schedule:

This position is full-time (40 hours/week). Office is open 7 days per week with shifts between the hours of 7am-7pm. Schedule to be determined by supervisor upon hire.

Location:

7061 Grand Montecito, Las Vegas, NV. May be required to travel to other clinics for training and coverage, as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in EPIC and update as necessary
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all policies
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicating pertinent information to patients and ensuring all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with computers and computer programs
  • CPR certified OR the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles such as referrals and prior authorization
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
