Job summary

Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall is seeking an Associate Patient Accounts III to perform timely follow-up on primary and secondary insurance balances, ensuring payments align with payer policies and hospital contracts. This per diem role supports the Self Pay & Cash Posting department in Cornwall, NY.

The ideal candidate will have hospital billing experience, knowledge of UB04, CPT and ICD-10, and strong Microsoft Word skills to craft appeal letters and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• High School required; AA/AS preferred.
• Two years hospital or physician billing experience.
• Experience with electronic claims submission.
• Knowledge of UB04, CPT and ICD-10; payer contract familiarity.
• HISS, Meditech and nThrive knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; capable of writing appeal letters.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Certification in Billing/PFS or coding preferred within 90 days.
