Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall seeks an Associate, Patient Accounts III to manage the follow up on primary and secondary insurance balances and ensure payments are received according to payer policy and hospital contracts.

The role requires two years in hospital or physician billing, knowledge of UB04/CPT/ICD-10, and proficiency in Microsoft Word for writing appeal letters. Certification through HFMA, AHIMA or similar within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School required; AA/AS preferred.
• Minimum two years hospital or physician billing experience.
• Experience with electronic claims submission.
• Knowledge of UB04, CPT and ICD-10.
• Must have HISS, Meditech and nThrive knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word for appeal letters.
• Read, write and communicate in English.
• Certification in Medical Billing/PFS or coding within 90 days.
