Do you have a Commercial Driver License (CDL)? NYC Parks seeks to fill a position from Spring 2025 to October 11, 2025, for a rewarding job caring for and maintaining parks and playgrounds for all New Yorkers. From the iconic Central Park to neighborhood playgrounds, we own and operate some of the most spectacular green spaces in the world. NYC Parks is the steward of over 30,000 acres of land – 14% of New York City. We operate more than 800 athletic fields and nearly 1,000 playgrounds, 1,800 basketball courts, 550 tennis courts, 65 public pools, and 51 recreational facilities.

Position: Associate Park Service Worker with Citywide Services

Major Responsibilities

1. Drive vehicles and operate motorized equipment safely to perform assigned duties.
2. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring proper functioning.
3. Maintain landscape and grounds; clean and repair facilities; follow agency rules and regulations.
4. Supervise personnel and inspect work to ensure timely completion according to specifications.
5. Maintain records, track assignments, and order supplies.

Work Location: 138th Street, Bronx

Duration: Spring 2025 to 10/11/2025. 40 hours per week.

Fees: Hired candidates will be subject to a $68 processing fee; non-City employees will pay an additional $101.25 background check fee.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months of full-time experience in gardening, grounds, tree maintenance, or trades; or
2. One year of full-time experience in similar fields.

License Requirement: Possession of a valid Class B CDL in NY; must maintain during employment. Age restrictions may apply.

Preferred Skills

1. CDL endorsement (e.g., Passenger, Tanker, Tow Truck).
2. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
3. Ability to train others.
4. Experience with specialized equipment (backhoes, beach equipment, loaders).
5. Clean driving record.
6. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends.
