Do you have a Commercial Driver License (CDL)? NYC Parks seeks to fill a position from Spring 2025 to October 11, 2025, for a rewarding job caring for and maintaining parks and playgrounds for all New Yorkers. From Central Park to neighborhood playgrounds, we own and operate some of the most spectacular green spaces in the world. NYC Parks manages over 30,000 acres of land, including more than 800 athletic fields, nearly 1,000 playgrounds, 1,800 basketball courts, 550 tennis courts, 65 pools, and 51 recreational facilities.

This vacancy: Associate Park Service Worker with Citywide Services

Major Responsibilities

1. Drive vehicles and operate motorized equipment safely to perform duties.
2. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.
3. Maintain landscape and grounds; clean and repair facilities; follow agency rules.
4. Supervise personnel and inspect work to ensure timely and proper completion.
5. Maintain records, track assignments, and order supplies.

Work Location: 138th Street, Bronx

Duration: Spring 2025 to 10/11/2025, 40 hours/week

Fees: $68 processing fee; $101.25 background check fee for new city employees

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months of relevant experience, or
• One year of relevant experience.

License Requirement

Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) in New York State. License must be maintained during employment.

Preferred Skills

• CDL endorsement (Passenger, Tanker, Tow Truck)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
• Ability to train others
• Experience with specialized equipment (backhoes, front-end loaders, etc.)
• Clean driving record
• Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends
