Job summary

Kelly is seeking an Associate Microbiologist — Quality Control in Fairfield, NJ. The role focuses on microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products, and water samples, supporting laboratory quality and compliance while building expertise in microbiological testing and cGMP practices.

The candidate will perform endotoxin testing, maintain documentation in LIMS, and ensure testing schedules meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related life science required.
  • Endotoxin testing experience required.
  • General knowledge of microbiology principles and routine microbiological testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of cGMP requirements and laboratory documentation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while following established procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing activities and meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform endotoxin and routine microbiological testing using established procedures. Prepare microbiological media and reagents required for testing.
  • Practice proper aseptic techniques, disinfection, and laboratory safety in accordance with SOPs.
  • Schedule and prioritize testing to meet established completion deadlines while maintaining analytical accuracy and quality.
  • Perform laboratory quality activities, including environmental/lab area monitoring, media qualification, incubator and equipment calibration, maintenance, and sterilization.
  • Accurately document results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and LIMS.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with cGMP and data integrity.

Job Summary
The Associate Microbiologist performs microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products, and water samples in accordance with applicable compendial, regulatory, and client-specific requirements. This role supports laboratory quality and compliance while developing technical expertise in microbiological testing and cGMP practices.

Key Responsibilities
