Job summary

Trustbridge Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a full-time Associate Medical Director to provide medical oversight and leadership for hospice patients and families across Palm Beach County. The role oversees two IDG teams and two IPUs in Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens, blending clinical care with leadership for home-based and facility-based care.

Requirements include an MD/DO, Florida license, and 2+ years of direct medical care; hospice/palliative certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in hospice and/or palliative medicine preferred.
• Florida license to practice medicine (Florida Statute 458 or 459).

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction for hospice patients, including care planning and symptom/pain management.
• Serve as a clinical resource and educator for staff, patients, families, and community physicians on hospice and end-of-life care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDG) meetings and collaborate to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Conduct patient assessments and clinical visits (home, inpatient, telehealth) to support eligibility, recertification, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to legal/regulatory standards while supporting ethics, community outreach, and admissions.
