Job summary

Arup is seeking an Associate, Mechanical Engineering Lead for Central Plants & District Energy on the West Coast. You will lead district energy and central plant projects, coordinating with multiple disciplines and managing client relations to deliver integrated design solutions.

We require 12+ years in HVAC design, with central plant experience, a US PE license, and a passion for decarbonization and sustainable building design. Roles can be based in LA, SF, Oakland, San Diego, or Seattle.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing central plants and hydronic networks.
• Experience with building HVAC systems and distributed hydronic networks.
• Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities.
• Proven track record in client engagements and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead District Energy and Central Plant projects across multiple markets.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and project managers for coordinated design deliverables.
• Maintain quality standards, manage project metrics and client relations.
• Develop proposals, participate in client interviews and expand opportunities.
• Mentor team members and foster inclusive growth.
