Job summary

You will collaborate with engineering and production teams throughout product development, applying SolidWorks and strong 3D CAD skills. Ideal candidates have experience designing mechanical assemblies, familiarity with manufacturing methods, GD&T, and a fast-paced work style.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 0-2 years professional engineering experience; exceptions possible.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of mechanical packaging for electro-optical products with knowledge of materials, fabrication, and certification standards.
• Evaluate design concepts via analysis, modeling, benchmarking and trade-off studies.
• Develop test plans and methodologies to verify performance under supervision.
• Prepare product documentation to support new product introductions.
• Document decisions and communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with vendors for DFMs to support cost/quality improvements.
• Design fixtures for manufacturing, testing, and other activities.
• Provide sustaining support and suggest design changes to improve manufacturability.
• Work with Operations to ensure manufacturability and ISO/QMS conformance.
