Job summary

WSP seeks an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Pump Stations and Pipelines team. The role involves hydraulic, mechanical, and pipeline design for mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects, with responsibilities in data analysis, modeling, and report generation.

Location flexibility includes Tucson, Tempe, Lakewood, or Houston offices, with collaboration across disciplines and field support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Familiarity with fluid mechanics and hydraulic system design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting and analyzing engineering data from site investigations and design drawings.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and pump evaluations for water, slurry, and process systems.
  • Develop hydraulic models, system curves, pump station designs, and pipeline alignments.
  • Prepare design criteria, specifications, datasheets, and piping/valve schedules.
  • Support multidisciplinary coordination across civil, structural, electrical, and geotechnical teams.
