Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer in Tucson, AZ to support the Pump Stations and Pipelines team across multiple offices. The role involves hydraulic, mechanical, and pipeline system analyses for mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects, with opportunities to grow and collaborate with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 1–3 years of post-education experience.
• Familiarity with fluid mechanics, hydraulic design, and pipeline engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with engineering calculations: pipe sizing, pressure loss, pump selection, and HL assessment.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software such as AFT Fathom/Impulse, KYPIPE or similar.
• Knowledge of piping systems, pumps, valves, slurry transport, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing engineering data from site investigations and design drawings.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and analyses for water, slurry, process fluids, and compressed air systems.
• Assist with hydraulic models, pump station designs, pipeline alignments, and surge concepts.
• Prepare technical reports, datasheets, PFDs, P&IDs, and design drawings.
