Job summary
WSP USA is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Pump Stations and Pipelines team. The role involves hydraulic and pipeline design, support for mining and industrial projects, and collaboration across disciplines.
Location options include Tucson, AZ; Tempe, AZ; Lakewood, CO; Houston, TX. The candidate should have 1–3 years of post-education experience and a solid grounding in fluid mechanics and piping systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, mining or related field.
- 1–3 years of post-education experience in engineering.
- Familiarity with fluid mechanics, hydraulics, and pipeline fundamentals.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling and pipe sizing calculations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with collecting and analyzing engineering data from site investigations and reports.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for water, slurry, and gas systems.
- Develop hydraulic models, system curves, and surge concepts.
- Support design of pipelines, pumps, valves and piping systems.
- Prepare technical deliverables: PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets and reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to complete projects.
