Job summary

EVONA is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineering Manager for the Westminster, CO site to lead a team of mechanical engineers focused on ruggedized communication hardware and phased array related design. You will mentor engineers, remain hands-on on critical hardware programs, and drive design reviews from concept to production.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on engineering in a defense/aerospace environment, with on-site work in Westminster, CO.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7+ years of mechanical engineering in aerospace/defense or rugged electronics.
• Experience as Technical Lead, IPT Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Strong electronics packaging and electromechanical hardware design.
• Experience with SolidWorks and FEA tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
• Exposure to MIL-STD-810/DO-160 environmental testing; manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers.
• Support hiring, onboarding and resource planning.
• Remain hands-on as senior contributor on critical hardware programs.
• Lead mechanical design for ruggedized electronics and systems.
• Support products from concept through production and qualification.
• Work on PCBA-level and system-level electronics packaging.
• Support environmental qualification including vibration, shock, temp and humidity.
• Drive design reviews and improve mechanical processes and standards.
• Collaborate with RF, Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing, QA and Supply Chain.
• Engage in customer technical discussions and program execution.
