This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who has moved into leadership but still enjoys being hands-on technically. You’ll provide mechanical engineering direction across multiple programs and help take hardware from early concept and architecture through design, manufacturing, integration, testing and qualification.
Lead, mentor and develop a team of mechanical engineers.
Own mechanical engineering execution across multiple space programs.
Lead mechanical architecture, trade studies and major technical decisions.
Oversee mechanical design and analysis of complex aerospace hardware.
Support electronics packaging at PCBA and system level.
Provide technical direction across structural, thermal and dynamic analysis.
Guide hardware through concept, design, manufacturing, integration, test and qualification.
Lead and participate in technical and customer design reviews.
Establish and improve mechanical engineering processes, standards and best practices.
Manage engineering resources against program schedule, cost, quality and technical requirements.
Collaborate with electrical, systems, manufacturing, supply chain and program teams.
Support product roadmap decisions, proposals and future technology development.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
7–9+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within space or aerospace.
1–3+ years of engineering management or technical team leadership experience.
Strong hands-on background in mechanical design and analysis.
Experience designing and packaging electronics/PCBAs and system-level hardware.
Strong understanding of structural, thermal and dynamic analysis.
Experience with environmental testing and qualification of aerospace or space hardware.
Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes including CNC machining, composites and additive manufacturing.
Understanding of system integration, AI&T and launch constraints.
Experience leading technical trade studies and architecture-level decisions.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM and FEA/simulation tools such as ANSYS or equivalent.
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead both engineers and senior technical discussions.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead a talented engineering team while remaining technically engaged in the development of real flight hardware.
The position offers significant ownership, exposure across multiple programs and the opportunity to influence both engineering strategy and further product development within a rapidly growing space organization.
