CesiumAstro in Westminster, Colorado seeks an Associate Mechanical Engineering Manager for Communication Systems to lead a team designing ruggedized electronics packaging and phased array antenna systems. You will mentor engineers, drive engineering processes, and remain hands-on in critical product developments.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with RF, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Quality teams while ensuring on-time, high-quality execution across programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 4–7 years in design/analysis of aerospace, defense, communications, or ruggedized electronics products.
• 1 additional year of leadership or management experience.
• Experience designing PCBA-level and system-level electronics packaging and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers; foster collaboration and high performance.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and career development for team members.
• Support staffing, onboarding, and resource allocation across programs and IRAD efforts.
• Partner with program leadership to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Develop and improve mechanical engineering processes, standards, tools, and best practices.
• Promote technical excellence through design reviews and mentorship.
• Lead as senior technical contributor for ruggedized packaging and phased array systems.
