Job summary

Kenworth Division of PACCAR invites an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer - Cost Reduction to join our Kirkland, WA team on site. You will design and implement cost-conscious truck design improvements, using Creo and various fabrication methods.

Join a division with a history of innovation in electric and autonomous truck technology, and work through the Product Creation Process with rigorous project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 0-1+ years of experience required.
• Proficiency using Creo Parametric or other CAD solid modeling software preferred.
• Capability to manage costs, time and resources; strong self-motivation.
• Requires independent judgment and effective project management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement truck design improvements using various fabrication methods.
• Create assemblies with Creo Parametric that meet structural and quality goals.
• Work through Product Creation Process and Six Sigma tools.
• Track project schedule, budget and functional requirements across systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to validate designs.
• Coordinate with multiple PACCAR divisions.
• Manage multiple priorities and goals concurrently.
• Apply creative approaches to standard work.
• Travel up to 10%.
