Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR subsidiary, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Off-Highway team. You will contribute to the design and development of heavy-duty vehicles, manage PLRs, and drive cost-reduction projects spanning from concept to production.

You will leverage Creo Parametric and work with suppliers and plants to deliver robust frame rails, driveline layouts, and chassis components while traveling up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in the specification and design of complex automotive components.
• BSME required; Master's degree in business or engineering preferred; P.E./F.E. certificate preferred.
• Proficient in Creo or other solid modeling software.
• Experience with design responsibility for frame rails, driveline components, suspensions or axles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design and development of heavy-duty trucks within the Off-Highway Group.
• Manage Plant Liaison Requests (PLRs) and drive design fixes for plant issues.
• Lead multiple projects including new product, warranty and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Track schedules, budgets and requirements across the project life cycle.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and plants; travel up to 10%.
