Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, part of PACCAR, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for chassis/frame development. You will contribute to design and continuous improvement of heavy-duty truck chassis within the Core Chassis Group, collaborating with PACCAR factories and cross-functional teams to address production issues and drive cost reductions.

Experience in automotive component design, CAD proficiency, and Six Sigma tools are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field required.
• 3-5+ years of experience in specification and design of complex automotive components.
• Competence in MS Office and CAD software.
• Familiar with project management and Six Sigma tools.
• Experience in logic trees and rules engine software is a plus.
• Demonstrates curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new mechanical design systems.
• Open to receiving feedback with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and continuous improvement of Kenworth’s heavy-duty truck chassis within the Core Chassis Group.
• Collaborate with PACCAR factories to implement innovative solutions addressing production issues.
• Support new product development, warranty, and cost reduction initiatives through cross-functional collaboration.
• Communicate with internal teams and external suppliers to design, validate, and implement components.
• Enhance and streamline order processing by updating PACCAR's Frame Design rules engine software.
• Travel up to 10% as required.
• Work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop technical skills.
