Job summary

ABB is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support engineering activities in project sizes and complexities, under supervision. You will perform survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design, preparing documentation and assisting customers with technical issues.

Onsite in the US, collaboration with a diverse global team is emphasized. The role requires a 4-year engineering degree with 0–2 years of experience, proficiency in CAD software, and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Entry level position for 4-year engineering degree holders with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Experience with low complexity orders and mechanical designs.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD (recent version) or equivalent computer-aided design platform.
  • Experience with 3D design including Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent design platforms.
  • Familiar with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP, Windchill, and other applicable software.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of creativity.
  • Complex problem-solving skills.
  • Independent thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Authorized to legally work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Performing survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.
  • Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and preparing project documentation within your scope of deliverables.
  • Assisting customers on technical issues and interacting with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within your scope of deliverables.
  • Supporting in communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
  • Participating in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.
