Job summary

ABB in Bartlesville, OK, onsite, seeks a design-focused engineer to act as a design authority for mechanical engineering within the UL Panel Program. You will work on small projects, apply design thinking, and support manufacturing, testing, and commissioning activities.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2+ years of panel design experience, with Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical, and related tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design of automation control panels.
  • Demonstrated UL Automation Panel design experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical, electrical schematics, MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating customer requirements, defining solution architecture, selecting components and applying UL standards to panel designs.
  • Providing technical support for manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Assisting in preparing proposals and presenting engineering projects.
  • Using design checklists to verify compliance with standards and guidelines.

Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. Being part of our team means your work matters - because the progress we make here creates real impact out there.Qualifications for the role:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent is required.2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design of automation control panels is preferred.Demonstrated track record in UL Automation Panel design and the elements of UL panel design is preferredProficient use of Solidworks Mechanical 3D modeling, AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, Electrical schematics, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of ePlan for control panel design and manufacturing support, knowledge of PLM systems and document control methods and windchill experience would be a plus.Innovative and creative mind, knowledge of latest automation panel hardware and its application, attention to detail and quality focusedKnowledge of UL 508A is preferredCandidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.What's in it for youWe empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence.
