Job summary

Brookfield Asset Management LLC seeks an Associate to advance real estate secondary investments, focusing on GP-led recapitalizations and structured solutions. You will perform complex financial analyses, market research and due diligence, and help prepare investment committee memos and recommendations.

You will work closely with colleagues and Brookfield affiliates, while also supporting asset management duties across the portfolio including financings and dispositions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in investment banking, M&A, real estate investing, and/or private equity.
  • Exceptional analytical, financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with high-level stakeholders at Brookfield with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Work on real estate secondary acquisitions with focus on GP-led recapitalizations and structured solutions.

Job Description

The Associate will work on real estate secondary acquisitions with a focus on GP-led recapitalizations and other structured solutions including preferred equity opportunities. Specific responsibilities include performing complex financial analysis and valuations, conducting market research, assisting with due diligence, writing investment committee memorandum and presenting investment recommendations. The Associate will work closely with junior and senior team members, senior management, Brookfield affiliates (investment professionals from other business areas within Brookfield’s real estate platform) and investors. In addition to working on new real estate secondary investments, the Associate will be involved in the asset management responsibilities for Brookfield’s existing portfolio including financings and asset dispositions.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in investment banking, M&A, real estate investing, and/or private equity

Salary Range

$175,000 - $200,000

This position would be suitable for those candidates who meet the role qualifications and who thrive in a performance-driven environment that emphasizes employee leadership and accountability for delivering results. Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
