Job summary

Royal Bank of Canada in New York seeks a focused credit risk professional to support RBCCM's Risk Solutions Group in onboarding and managing sponsor fund relationships, including private equity, sponsor funds, and hedge funds.

You will gather fund documents, assess credit risk, and collaborate with Fund Finance, Group Risk Management, and Trading Documentation to negotiate ISDA terms and support trading relationships. Strong communication and analytical skills required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of credit risks with institutional clients including Private Equity and Sponsor funds.
• Knowledge of sponsor fund structures and operations.
• Understanding of ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs, including credit terms.
• Basic understanding of FX and Rates products and their application in sponsor fund relationships.
• Strong analytical, technical, written and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support RBCCM’s Risk Solutions Group in onboarding and management of sponsor fund relationships.
• Conduct fund due diligence and review fund documents (PPMs, LPAs, Management Agreements, structure charts, financials).
• Collaborate with Fund Finance and Risk Management to assess risk and identify non-lending opportunities.
• Assist in risk assessment and credit onboarding for alternative investment funds and trading relationships.
• Propose ISDA credit terms and other provisions during document negotiations with RBC teams.
• Prepare credit and trading line requests with required documentation for Risk Management approvals.
