Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is seeking an Underwriter to review and analyze risk for renewals, proposals, and benefit changes. The role involves negotiating pricing and product configuration with sales or account management, and communicating underwriting decisions to internal stakeholders.

You will assist senior underwriters, handle special projects, and stay current on industry practices and state/federal healthcare reform mandates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years related experience or bachelor’s degree in lieu of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare and analyze risk for renewals, proposals, and benefit changes.
• Negotiate with sales or account management for final price and product configuration.
• Communicate underwriting decisions to internal customers and maintain documentation.
• Assist Underwriter and Senior Underwriter; complete special projects and stay current on underwriting practices.
