Job summary

Cipriani & Werner P.C. is seeking an NY/NJ Associate to join our Woodbridge Office in Iselin, NJ. This is a hybrid position with a focus on NY and NJ General Liability defense and related matters.

Candidates must have a JD from an ABA-approved school and an active New York license (NJ Bar admission preferred). A minimum of 6+ years of NY GL litigation experience is required; familiarity with NY/NJ practice and trial work is valued.

Qualifications

• Must have JD from ABA-approved law school and be licensed in NY; NJ Bar admission preferred.
• 6+ years NY General Liability litigation experience required; NJ experience preferred.
• Experience in NY and NJ commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accident and product liability preferred; trial experience preferred.

The Woodbridge Office in Iselin, NJ is looking for an NY/NJ Associate to join our growing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Evaluate new files.
• Client communications.
• Discovery production.
• Research and prepare legal memoranda on various areas of law.
• Prepare and argue discovery.
• Substantive, dispositive pre- and post-trial motions and appeals.
• Attend pretrial listings.
• Motions and trial.

Position Requirements:

• Must have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and maintain an active license in good standing in New York; admission to the New Jersey Bar is preferred.
• 6+ years of NY General Liability litigation experience required. NJ General Liability litigation experience preferred.
• Experience in both NY and NJ commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accident and product liability preferred. Trial experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
• Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment.

This is a hybrid position.

The salary range for this position is $140,000-$180,000 and represents C&W's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
