Job summary

Agora, a fintech company building a USD-pegged stablecoin platform, seeks an Associate General Counsel in New York. You will be the first dedicated member of the legal team, reporting to the General Counsel, and help build the function from the ground up.

You will advise on commercial contracts, regulatory matters, governance, and risk, partnering with compliance and outside counsel as needed. A broad, high-impact role with growth potential in a fast-moving company.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing (New York admission preferred).
• Approximately 8–12 years of legal experience, combining law-firm and in-house background.
• Genuine breadth across contracting, regulatory/product counseling, governance, and compliance.
• Exposure to digital assets, crypto, or other regulated fintech environments.
• Experience working across functions and building trust with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Advise the General Counsel and executive leadership on diverse legal matters.
• Own commercial and technology contracts including vendor and platform terms.
• Advise on the digital-asset regulatory landscape with compliance and outside counsel.
• Support corporate governance, board materials, and financing matters.
• Partner on compliance, risk, disputes, and manage outside counsel efficiently.
• Help build templates, playbooks, and processes as the legal team scales.
