Job summary

Flex, a NYC-headquartered FinTech, seeks an Associate General Counsel to own complex transactions and scale legal capabilities. You will draft strategic agreements, build templates, and advise cross‑functional teams on regulatory matters.

You’ll work with the VP Legal in a hybrid model (NYC, San Francisco, or Salt Lake City) and help shape an in‑house commercial function. JD and US bar admission are required, with 7+ years’ post‑JD experience.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active U.S. state bar admission.
• 7+ years of post‑JD transactional experience.
• Experience with fintech, payments, or consumer credit is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft strategic commercial agreements with financial partners and payments-related deals.
• Develop playbooks, policies and templates for bank, partner and commercial transactions.
• Scale Flex’s legal capabilities by leveraging training and technology.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, finance, partnerships).
• Help build an in‑house, best-in-class commercial legal function.
