Job summary

TAMKO Building Products, headquartered in Galena, Kansas, seeks an Associate General Counsel to guide management on a wide range of legal matters including marketing law, IP, privacy, IT, contracts and litigation. The role reports to the Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer.

The ideal candidate has a JD, 5+ years in law firms or in-house, and strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and Kansas license or ability to become licensed within 12 months.
• Minimum of 5 years in law firm and/or in-house roles with corporate focus.
• Experience in marketing/advertising law, IP, privacy, IT, cybersecurity, licensing.
• Sales, manufacturing or governance experience is a plus for broader support.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills; strong analytical ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and research tools.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools for legal research and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Develop company policy and positions on legal issues.
• Research and provide timely advice on a broad array of legal topics.
• Anticipate and guard the company against legal risks.
• Advise managers and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Structure, draft and review reports and various legal documents.
• Negotiate, draft and administer contracts.
• Assist in managing litigation, claims and risk.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance research and workflow.
