Job summary

Abridge seeks an Associate General Counsel, Product (Data Products, ML & AI) to guide legal strategy for core AI and machine learning products. You will partner with product, engineering, and compliance teams to address AI regulatory, IP, data rights, and model liability issues, ensuring responsible and auditable AI development.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of legal experience with 6+ years in AI/advising on emerging technologies, and prior in-house experience.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of legal experience, including 6+ years advising on AI, machine learning, or emerging technology products, with prior in-house experience required.
• Strong understanding of AI-specific legal issues—IP, data rights, model liability, and responsible AI—is essential, with ability to translate regulatory and technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate AI-specific legal risks.
• Develop scalable legal frameworks and contract language for frontier AI.
• Shape Abridge's positions on emerging AI regulation.
• Support privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and data governance for AI training and deployment.
