Job summary

Abridge is seeking an Associate GC, Product (Data Products, Machine Learning, and AI) to serve as the primary legal advisor for teams building AI-driven health tech. This role focuses on advising on AI model and product developments, ensuring compliance across emerging medical AI landscapes.

You will address legal risks in model output, data rights, IP, and regulatory compliance, while shaping internal processes and external positions with regulators and industry groups.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of legal experience, including 6+ years counseling on AI, machine learning, or other emerging technology products.
• Prior in-house experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as go-to counsel for teams building AI models and products, advising on legal issues spanning model development and downstream clinical use.
• Identify and design mitigations for AI-specific legal risks, including IP, data rights, model liability, and regulatory concerns.
• Develop flexible legal processes and contract language suited to frontier AI development.
• Represent the company on AI regulatory matters with external counsel, regulators, and industry groups.
• Support privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and data governance in AI contexts.
• Collaborate with legal, product, and compliance stakeholders on AI principles such as transparency and accountability.
