Job summary

The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY) seeks a full-time Associate Fire Protection Inspector Level II for the Bureau of Fire Prevention’s CDA Unit. You will supervise inspectors and support staff and help shape training programs and code interpretations.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Inspector, you evaluate day-to-day operations, review proposed codes, and assist in ensuring fire and life safety compliance across City buildings. Residency and related city requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time experience in fire protection inspection or related areas.
• Education or experience equivalent to the above; college-level fire science/engineering may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspectors and support staff in the CDA Unit.
• Develop and evaluate training programs for new and current staff.
• Participate in code development and evaluate proposed codes and ordinances.
