Job summary

The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY) seeks an Associate Fire Protection Inspector - 31662 to enforce fire and building safety standards in the five boroughs. The role requires reviewing criminal court related matters and coordinating with the Corporation Counsel in enforcement proceedings.

Qualifications

• Five years' full-time experience in explosives, safety standards, or fire system inspection.
• Education/experience equivalent: 30 credits per year of experience, up to 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Department in Criminal Court and in OATH hearings.
• Liaise with Corporation Counsel Attorneys on criminal court matters.
• Review summonses and confer with defendants' representatives.
• Assist with special projects and coordinate with other Bureaus.
