Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining retail store technologies and computer systems and peripherals within retail store and commercial environments. Responsibilities include product installation, support, and repair of Toshiba and non-Toshiba retail products, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational metrics are met. The role involves troubleshooting, equipment refurbishment, installation, relocation, and configuration changes, working under supervision until fully trained.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform basic repairs and diagnostics on products, utilizing established procedures and tools, with occasional assistance from experienced technicians.
  2. Travel within territory or nationally for installations, relocations, and modifications of retail POS equipment.
  3. Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding work status and issues, fostering positive relationships.
  4. Manage and complete service events efficiently to meet customer commitments and minimize operational disruptions.
  5. Plan, prioritize, and schedule work, including travel arrangements, with flexibility for varying shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  6. Document installation activities accurately following Toshiba standards, including travel and expense reports.
  7. Maintain and manage trunk stock to support customer needs.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Travel to multiple customer locations daily.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • 75% standing/walking during workday.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and twisting activities.
  • Use of hand tools and possible air travel.
  • Use of ladders or lifts for device access.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma with 2+ years in Electronics.
  • Willingness to travel 100%, including domestic and air travel.
  • Basic knowledge of PC technology, networking, retail devices, and electronics.
  • Mechanical aptitude, proficiency with test equipment and tools.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair low voltage wiring and signal/power cables.
  • Self-motivated with a professional demeanor and high work ethic.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and overtime.
