Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Associate Estimator to prepare estimates for diverse projects and support the estimating team with cost accuracy. The role involves reading contracts, performing take-offs, and coordinating with subs for pricing, while delivering reliable estimates and assisting in bid proposals.

The candidate should have a civil engineering or construction management background and proficiency with common estimating tools, MS Office, and related software to ensure competitive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble or similar estimation tools.
• Knowledge of On Screen Take-off and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for multiple projects using hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual methods.
• Read and interpret contract documents (plans, specs, addenda).
• Perform quantity take-offs; organize and price data.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers; clarify pricing with subs.
