Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks an Associate Engineer to deliver entry-level engineering on HV overhead transmission design projects. You will assist with line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, and permit/vendor coordination.

The role includes preparing work packages, evaluating constructability, and generating task estimates while supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• EI/EIT certification preferred.
• 1+ year of transmission line engineering experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand design criteria.
• Build design models using the PLS software suite.
• Develop and analyze foundation designs (FAD, FD6, APile, LPile).
• Spot structures and evaluate clearance and structural utilization in PLS-CADD.
• Evaluate design alternatives and run reports in PLS-CADD.
• Compose work packages and release letters.
• Produce estimates of man-hours and completion dates.
• Manage multiple tasks across projects.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

EI/EIT certification

1+ years of related transmission line engineering experience

Understanding of design codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI)
