Job summary

Abbott in Liberty, SC is seeking an Associate Engineer to provide engineering support for device manufacturing operations. You will develop cost-effective process improvements and apply engineering and scientific principles to solve technical problems.

The role involves writing reports, performing validations, and collaborating across functions to ensure quality and regulatory compliance. Travel is expected to around 5% and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, materials science, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of design/manufacturing experience with medical devices.
• Ability to work in a matrixed, global organization.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering support for existing operations.
• Performs dimensioning and tolerance evaluations of components and tooling.
• Conducts electrical analysis of failed components for troubleshooting.
• Oversees device configuration control and updates as required.
• Writes ETRs, memos, change papers, and develops operator procedures.
• Performs process validations on equipment and processes.
• Investigates causes of problems and helps prevent recurrence.
• Supports QA, EMS, QMS, and regulatory requirements.
