Job summary

Abbott is a global healthcare leader seeking an engineer to provide engineering support for device manufacturing operations. You will develop and implement efficient, cost-effective process improvements and apply engineering principles to technical problems.

The role requires awareness of regulatory requirements and collaboration across teams. The position demands a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 1 year of medical device design/manufacturing experience, with travel up to 5%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (±16 years) in Electrical/mechanical engineering, material science, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 1 year - Design and manufacturing experience in medical devices.
• Ability to travel approx. 5%, including internationally.
• Experience in matrixed cross‑division environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering support for existing operations.
• Performs dimensioning and tolerance evaluations on components and tooling.
• Performs electrical analysis of failed components for troubleshooting.
• Oversees device configuration control and updates as required.
• Writes ETRs, memos, Engineering Change Papers, travelers, and procedures.
• Performs process validations on equipment and processes.
• Resolves problems and identifies root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Supports QMS, EMS and other regulatory requirements.
• Complies with FDA regulations and company policies.
• Maintains positive communications with staff, customers, and vendors.
