Job summary

Dominion Energy in West Columbia, SC seeks an Engineer for the Electric Distribution Planning team who understands power fundamentals and is motivated to learn. You will plan and optimize the distribution grid to provide safe and reliable power.

This position is located in West Columbia, South Carolina. There is one position available and will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering is required; equivalency accepted.
• 0–2+ years for Associate Engineer.
• 2+ years and FE for Engineer.
• 5+ years and FE for Senior Engineer.
• 8+ years and PE for Staff Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead distribution planning incl. load analysis and protection.
• Drive capital planning and system improvements.
• Support budgeting, project management, and work management.
• Collaborate with substation and transmission planning.
• Field work: programming and troubleshooting controls on reclosers and regulators.
• Work on SCADA, ADMS/FLISR, AMI roadmaps.
• Support DER integration and storm restoration efforts.
