Position Overview

Weston is seeking an Associate Engineer with 0-4 years of experience to assist with design services for engineering projects primarily executed by the design group out of West Chester, PA. Projects involve clean construction and environmental remediation. The associate engineer will be responsible for advancing designs and specifications under the supervision of a licensed engineer, both in the office and in the field.

West Chester, PA. (Hybrid) This position combines in-office, on-site, and remote work.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering with approximately 0 to 4 years of experience preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, including conveying technical presentations and participating in project meetings.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• US Citizen able to obtain security clearance for work on DoD sites.
• OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper, OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification, and CPR/First Aid Training are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing site civil designs, stormwater management calculations, and BMP selection.
• Gain understanding of the construction permitting process.
• Create construction specifications related to earthworks, site grading, erosion and sedimentation control, and restoration.
• Provide engineering field services during construction under supervision of a P.E.
• Work with the engineering team to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Assist with RFPs, develop scopes of work, obtain vendor quotes, and evaluate technical merit.
• Experience with field construction, shop drawing reviews, and submittals is a plus.
• Assist or lead field teams in environmental sampling.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and traverse uneven terrain.
• Ensure compliance with company practices and quality standards.
• Participate in local professional societies for networking.
• Perform all work professionally, safely, and ethically.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel (~30%), primarily within the Philadelphia metro area.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
