Job summary

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Associate Engineer to protect critical water infrastructure. You’ll develop, design, and implement cathodic protection measures and perform on-site assessments of pipelines and treatment facilities.

You’ll also use enterprise GIS to manage data and drive asset management programs, collaborate with engineers and agencies, and contribute to corrosion control and standards compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 4 years of relevant experience, 2 years at Assistant Engineer II.
  • Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience at Assistant Engineer II level.
  • Experience designing cathodic protection systems for pipelines or critical infrastructure and corrosion control testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and implement cathodic protection measures.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, operations personnel, and external agencies to ensure project execution and asset management.
  • Perform on-site assessments of pipelines, water treatment facilities, and related water infrastructure to support asset management programs.
  • Utilize an enterprise GIS to gather, manage, and analyze assessment data.
