Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Key Points: As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be based in one of several dynamic locations, including our client's offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, or Seattle. This flexibility allows you to choose a location that best suits your lifestyle and preferences. Additionally, it is essential that candidates have prior experience working on electrical engineering projects within the state of California, ensuring they are familiar with the state's specific regulations, codes, and practices. This experience is critical to successfully navigating the unique challenges and requirements of electrical engineering in California.

Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Working closely with clients, architects, and other engineers/design team members as part of a dedicated and skilled team.
  • Producing coordinated detailed design drawings, electronic models, specifications, written reports, site observation reports, schedules, etc., for various projects within the electrical discipline.
  • Coordinating with utility companies and obtaining necessary electrical permit approvals from Plan Check.
  • Organizing technical and financial proposals for new work.
  • Managing the workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians, including quality verification.
  • Taking responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detailed design.
  • Preparing Technical Specifications.
  • Monitoring financial performance of jobs.
  • Keeping senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions to achieve client objectives.
  • Mentoring junior Electrical Engineers.
  • Ensuring practices, policies, strategies, and services represent the client's best interests and comply with current legislation and relevant building codes.
  • Planning, organizing, and managing personal workload to meet deadlines in line with client commitments.
  • Proactively raising concerns regarding workload and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintaining an overview of the project team's workload and commitments to meet deadlines and balance resource utilization.
  • Actively contributing to delivering profitable projects within the context of project finances.
  • Setting up and managing job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure.
Key Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design within the building services and construction industry.
  • Experience working on projects in sectors such as Higher Education, Museums, Commercial, Transportation Hubs, and/or Stadiums.
  • Relevant bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is desirable.
  • LEED AP accreditation is preferred.
  • Experience using Revit.
  • Familiarity with computational analysis tools such as electrical fault analysis and lighting design software.
  • Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization and work independently.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of electrical systems; ability to investigate, identify, and provide solutions to technical problems.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills (verbal and written), with experience presenting to 'C-suite' level stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing technical reports for delivery to clients.
  • Ability to problem-solve and propose multiple solutions to clients, objectively summarizing the benefits and shortfalls of each.
Header: Candidates must have prior experience working on projects in the following sectors: Higher Education Buildings, Museums, Commercials, Transportation Hubs, and/or Stadiums (larger-scale projects; residential projects are not relevant).Must Haves:
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design within the building services and construction industry.
  • Experience in Higher Education buildings, commercial projects, museums, airports (larger scale projects; residential projects are not relevant).
  • Experience doing electrical engineering work in the state of CA.
  • Competency in using design software such as Revit and familiarity with computational analysis tools for electrical fault analysis and lighting design.
  • Capability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers within the team, fostering their growth and development.
Nice to Haves:
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) Certification: Possession of a P.E. certification to enhance credibility and expertise in the field.
  • LEED AP Accreditation: Accreditation as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional to demonstrate expertise in sustainable design practices.
