American Physical Society seeks an Associate Editor for PRE to oversee the peer-review workflow and editorial decisions. You would engage with authors, referees, and editors across the APS portfolio to maintain high scientific standards.

The role emphasizes strong English communication, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple manuscripts with attention to detail while contributing to journal strategy and outreach.

Qualifications

• PhD and postdoctoral experience in one or more of statistical physics, nonlinear physics, complex systems, biological physics, soft matter, fluids, plasma physics, computational physics.
• Broad background and outlook across PRE-relevant physics topics.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of peer review for a suite of manuscripts and decide publication.
• Maintain contact with PRE editors and other APS journals.
• Summarize papers to highlight and keep up with current physics research.
• Support post-acceptance processes and resolve production issues.
• Ensure editorial quality, ethical standards, and timely decisions.
