The role emphasizes reviewing, editing for content and style, and guiding authors through revisions.

Remote work is possible for qualified candidates in select US states; initial compensation ranges from $84,000 to $95,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics required.
• 1–5 years post-PhD experience with postdoctoral research and publications.
• Strong knowledge of scientific research methods for technical discussions with authors.
• Outreach skills to acquire strong papers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for authors and reviewers.

Responsibilities

• Manage evaluation, review, and editing of physics manuscripts.
• Judge scientific value and select reviewers.
• Discuss and make recommendations with staff, advisors, and authors.
• Write summaries of research results for publication.
• Guide authors on revisions and edit manuscripts for content and style.
• Follow manuscripts through production to timely publication.
• Commission and edit timely review articles on diverse topics.
• Foster relationships with the scientific community through meetings and contacts.
• Represent Science at national and international meetings.
