The goal of the program is to develop proficiency in all Distribution Dispatcher functions through the use of various training methods including the classroom, on-the-job training, and field experience.The Distribution Dispatcher functions include operating the electrical distribution system in a safe and reliable manner; monitoring multiple computer applications for system alarms and outages; coordinating and directing switching activities for normal maintenance and power restoration; forming contingency plans to mitigate consequences and implementing contingency plans should an event occur; and dispatching service level work orders to field resources.The position requires a two part pre-employment testing:- System Operator Power Dispatch test (SO/PD)Progression through the hiring process will be contingent upon the SOPD test recommendation, and a formal interview.## **Basic/Required Qualifications*** High School Diploma or equivalent and must meet one of the following criteria:* Journeyman lineman* Journeyman electrician-substation* System Protection & Control Technician (Relay Tech)* 5 years of distribution, transmission, production, or power-utility related experience* 3 years distribution transmission, production, or power-utility related experience and Associate’s Degree in related field* 1 years distribution transmission, production, or power-utility related experience and Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering## Desired Qualifications* Ability to comprehend one- line and three-line diagrams* Experience with SCADA and OMS applications* Must be able to work in a high paced, rapidly changing environment## Working Conditions* **Onsite Mobility Classification** – Work will be performed at a company facility.
