Job summary

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) invites applications for the Associate Director for the TRIO Teacher Preparation Program. This leadership role oversees day-to-day operations of a federally funded program focused on retention, persistence, and graduation of first‑generation and/or disadvantaged students pursuing education fields.

The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director for Student Access & Success and ensures compliance, strategic planning, and budget oversight while

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education, or related field.
• Experience with low-income, first-generation students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience administering federal grant programs.
• Budgetary oversight and staff supervision experience.
• Knowledge of financial aid processing and college admissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory oversight of program staff, including hiring, training, scheduling and evaluations.
• Lead design, coordination, and assessment of education-focused academic and non-cognitive development workshops.
• Ensure TRIO program compliance with EDGAR, TRIO regulations, and institutional policies.
• Manage Blumen and university data systems to monitor student progress and program performance.
• Support budget planning, proposals, reports, and fiscal accountability.
