Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Translational PK/PD Scientific Associate Director in Boston to lead model-based decisions across discovery and translational programs. You will integrate diverse data, build PBPK/QSP platforms, and help shape translational strategy for dose projections and human pharmacology.

The role requires advanced degrees and hands-on experience with PK/PD modeling in biologics/peptides, plus expertise in experimental design and statistics.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics or related field (Masters/PhD/PharmD).
• Hands-on translational PK/PD modeling using standard software for biologics/protein therapeutics and/or peptides.
• Strong skills in experimental design and statistical analysis.

Job description

The Translational PK/PD Scientific Associate Director will:

• Serve as expert PK/PD modeler in cross-functional teams to make model-informed decisions about drug discovery, modality selection, and dose prediction.
• Integrate in vitro and in vivo data to build PK/PD, PBPK, QSP, or other mechanistic modeling platforms for drug disposition and pharmacology to support forward/reverse translation.
• Collaborate to design experimental studies and modeling plans to identify and optimize drug candidates and guide translational strategy.
• Guide automated workflows for implementing modeling platforms to inform human PK/PD and dose projections.
• Provide scientific and modeling guidance to junior colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s (8+ years), PharmD (6+ years), or Ph.D. (4+ years) in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, mathematics, applied mathematics, systems/computational biology, chemical/biomedical engineering, statistics/biostatistics, or related field.

Required experience/skills:

• Hands-on translational PK/PD modeling using standard software (e.g., Matlab, OSP Suite, Monolix, R) for biologics/protein therapeutics and/or peptides.
• Expert skills in experimental design, mathematical problem solving, critical data analysis/interpretation, and statistics.

Preferred:

• Experience in interdisciplinary teams and collaborative problem scoping/planning.
• Expertise developing novel translational modeling strategies or automated workflows using PBPK, QSP, or related mechanistic modeling.
