Job summary

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking an Associate Director - Student Leadership and Governance to provide strategic leadership for student engagement programs across Student Government, student organizations, and involvement initiatives. This role advises governing bodies and leads policy development for a vibrant student life ecosystem.

The position involves supervising a diverse team, overseeing budgets, and partnering with campus leaders to strengthen student belonging

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred for leadership roles.
• Three years of education, training, and/or work experience in the relevant area.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience; a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of higher education or student affairs experience with supervisory and budget responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for student engagement programs including Student Government and student organizations.
• Advise Student Government Executive Board, Senate, committees, elections, and governance processes.
• Direct policies, resources, and recognition for student organizations and involvement.
• Oversee Fraternity and Sorority Life and support leadership development and community standards.
• Develop opportunities to enhance student leadership and campus belonging.
• Supervise and develop a team of staff and students across multiple areas.
• Manage budgets, financial resources, and administrative processes for the portfolio.
• Collaborate with campus partners to shape departmental strategy and student success.
