Job summary

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville seeks an Assistant Director for Training, Development & Belonging (CS27-018) to lead signature Morris University Center programming, manage daily operations, and develop staff through targeted training and assessment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of education/training experience, with strong leadership, communication, and event-planning skills. Availability for variable hours, occasional weekends, and on‑call duties is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 1 year of education, training and/or related work experience; master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business or public administration, marketing, student personnel or related field; 1+ year of college union/student center/student activities experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead signature Morris University Center (MUC) programming and day‑to‑day building management affecting student and guest operations.
• Oversee human resources functions for the UC, staff development and training for students and full‑time staff, and lead evaluation efforts for the MUC.
• Supervise personnel and provide guidance to professional and support staff; coordinate event planning and management.
• Be available for variable hours during fall and spring semesters, occasional extended days, weekends, and on‑call emergencies.
