Job summary

Rainier Scholars is seeking an Associate Director to provide direct mental health services for scholars in grades 5–8, lead wellness programs, and supervise the Academic Coaching team in Tacoma. The role partners with program leadership to align support with social-emotional goals and uses data to inform referrals.

This grant-funded, 3-year term offers hybrid work from our Tacoma office, with 2–3 days on-site and occasional evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related mental health field.
• Clinical license or license-eligibility (e.g., LSWAIC, LMHCA, or equivalent) for WA.
• 3+ years of experience with early adolescents in clinical/community mental health.
• Experience facilitating group counseling or workshops for youth.
• Experience supervising staff and providing performance feedback.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical mental health support and wellness initiatives.
• Lead data collection/analysis to strengthen mental health referrals.
• Supervise and develop Academic Coaches and Student Advisors.
• Collaborate with school staff and recruitment teams on mental health screenings.
