Job summary

House of Ruth Maryland seeks an Associate Director of Residential Services to lead its 84-bed Emergency Shelter program, ensuring a safe, trauma-informed environment for survivors. The role aligns with the Director of Stability Services to set program goals, improve service quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.

As a member of HRM’s leadership, you will supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate across residential and supportive programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field and at least three years of progressively responsible human-services experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or program management experience; including leading managers or multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in crisis response, hotline services, emergency shelter, housing, service coordination, case management, or victim services.

Responsibilities

• Establishes, implements, and maintains program standards, policies, procedures, and quality assurance.
• Oversees staffing plans and 24/7 coverage of the Emergency Shelter; supports back-up coverage of the 24-hour hotline.
• Manages daily operations of Residential programs, including food service, operations, and administration.
• Oversees resource management and program budgets; ensures data integrity and compliance.
• Represents HRM on coalitions and partnerships; prepares letters of support and MOUs.
• Leads hiring, supervision, and staff development; designs performance improvement plans.
