Job summary

Vir Biotechnology is seeking an Associate Director in San Francisco to lead research program planning and operations for partnered and internal programs from discovery through early development. You will build integrated plans, manage milestones, and drive cross-functional execution with strong scientific and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline with 12+ years of experience in drug development; or advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA), preferred, with commensurate experience

Responsibilities

• Partner with Research Leads, Project Team Leads, and functional representatives to drive execution of partnered and internal research programs.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Facilitate cross-functional project team meetings and ensure alignment on objectives, priorities, and deliverables.
• Track program progress and proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks that may impact timelines or objectives.
• Support program governance activities, including preparation of materials for portfolio reviews, stage gates, and leadership discussions.
• Partner with the CMO organization, Alliance Management, TechOps, and other functions to support transition of assets from Research into early development.
• Coordinate activities and communications with external collaboration partners as appropriate.
